MY TEAM SEASON 2

Football has always been the de facto national sport of Malaysia. No matter where you go, whether it’s from the rural areas of our “Kampungs” to the urban landscape of our cities. In essence Malaysians eat, breath, sleep and talk football. The first sport most kids are introduced to as soon as they start walking is football. The problem we face is not a lack of interest in football, it’s a lack of interest in our local football.

What happened?

The Malaysian football team was once respected and highly regarded in the international arena, acknowledged among the best in Asia.

In view of the decline in the standard, interest, and participation in local football, Maya Team Sdn. Bhd. Has stepped up to the plate and without name calling or finger pointing presents to you the de facto reality TV football program of Malaysia, “MyTeam” to rekindle the fire and national pride in our football and to unearth new talents. Many people talk the talk. We’re going to walk the walk.

The problems and issues Malaysian football is facing:

Insufficient avenue of talent discovery
Decline in interest in the local football league and the national football team
Lack of excitement for the local football scene
Drop in stadium attendances
No structured sources of funding
Malaysia’s presence at the international level is fast diminishing

MyTeam Objectives:

To creates excitement in and towards the local football
To gives Malaysians an entertaining local football show that can compete with the popularity of the English Premier League
To promotes healthy living amongst youth
To discover new football talent
To provides a dream opportunity for many Malaysians to play the national team
To generate sources of funding for local football (e.g. attracting sponsorship for the football programme, the players and the sport itself)
To help profile Malaysia football globally and regionally with innovative ideas such as MyTeam
